Service Providers
We work closely with the treatment and service providers who support our claimants following their motor accident.
Community involvement
MAIB is committed to reducing road trauma across Tasmania through targeted safety programs and strong community partnerships.
In general, to claim a treatment expense, you need to give your MAIB claim number to your medical provider and ask them to invoice the MAIB directly. If you are sent an invoice, you should send it to the MAIB together with your MAIB claim number.
If you need to travel more than 20 kilometres (each way) to attend medical treatment as a result of your injury, we can reimburse you for the cost of your travel.
If you are not able to perform your work duties as a result of an injury sustained in a motor accident, the MAIB can assist you by paying a temporary loss of income allowance while you recover enough to return to your work. The loss of income allowance is payable for both employed and self-employed people.
